Fourth Wall is a group of gamers that share common interests in gaming.
Fourth Wall is a chatroom.
Fourth Wall is a collection of guilds across different MMRPGS.
None of these statements really capture what Fourth Wall is, however. Fourth Wall, or 4W for short, is a group of people that are bound together by history and preference, by common interests and games, by each other and by the basic premise of fun. For that is what 4W really is to her members: Fun. However you define it, however you express it, 4W is a celebration of enjoyment and perhaps the one true thing that all Fourth Wall members have in common. Well, besides conversations including the word "Wang." Just fun and wang.
Fourth Wall is a community; our guild members are active in the games they play and the particular (and oft peculiar) communities the servers we play on house. As such, anyone is welcomed to the Fourth Wall community, making 4W a unique guild indeed. Fourth Wall's roots are in Everquest, but we are no longer simply an Everquest guild. Since our inception, there have been the greatest of adventures and the direst of times as we have celebrated our guild with passion, emotion and a healthy bit of drama. Guild leaders have come and gone; the guild abides. The orginal guild spawned others, as we branched out into new games, Camelot, Anarchy, Diablo, just to name a few. Now united solely by the name, we celebrate our guild by taking pride in the name "Fourth Wall", proud of our history, of our passion for gaming, and most of all each other.
Fourth Wall is mainly a community for "mature" adults. There is no age limit to join Fourth Wall, however guild chat and IRC chat can be often inappropriate for children and people with sticks up their asses. If you are still of the age where you need parental permission to view things, your best bet in 4W is to wait for them to go to bed.
Above all, there are few rules to really obey in the Fourth Wall. "Be good to each other", "Have fun" and "Don't be a jerk" just about sum up the real jist of getting along with Fourth Wall.
I expect only one basic rule to be followed in public mediums, be respectful of each other. This is a hard rule to follow when taken seriously, however, and while tempers flare, opinions conflict, as long as respect is held for all others in that public forum, your voice will be allowed to be heard. Administrators do have the power to remove your voice from those forums, but will only do so with the following provisions:
* Administrators will never ban anyone out of anger or spite. If you feel you have been banned from the channel or forums for such a reason, contact Gaedan; or, if you feel Gaedan has acted in this manner you should contact another administrator (see below for a list).
* Administrators never remove someone from the channel or forums at any one person's behest. If someone is becoming a nuisance, we must be allowed to investigate or attempt to resolve any problem before passing judgement.
* IRC Adminstrators: Gaedan, Dogmeat, Keru, Xaffythe and Felessan.
* Forum Administrators: Gaedan, Dogmeat, Keru, Barlypop and Holt.
