Epic Madness! posted by spicer on July 28, 2003 01:33 AMPST

The past week has seen several successful raids for epic pieces, and the completion of one in particular - that of our beloved guildleader, Holt. Today - Grats to Holt on killing the giant tadpole Fayd and getting his cheeseslicer! Even more congratulations to Grimjrakar for getting his Fiery Avenger today. Hopefully he'll have his full blown particle toy soon! Unfortunately, your intrepid reporter here was unable to attend today's highly successful raids; however, I would like to report on the extraordinary events of last weekend and one of the most successful raids I have ever been on.

Saturday, July 19th... A day that will live in infamy. What was supposed to be just a dungeon crawl with a few friends to get the piece for Mcbee's Shaman epic turne out to be an all out assault on the Hole! The combined forces of the Fourth Wall and our fellow UA members, the Noble Lions, a handful of mercenaries and some friends from The Awakened managed to bring not one, not two, but THREE players' epics one step closer to completion! Congratulations to Mcbee for his successful raid and epic piece and our friends from Noble Lions, Kegk and Gemtex on their epic pieces!

We all worked together like a well-oiled machine, tearing through the Hole like nobody's business. We're happy to report that there wasn't a single death during the whole raid. We're also VERY happy to report that raiding wasn't the only thing on a certain halfling assassin's mind, as the entire raid force quickly found out:

After the laughter died down, and a hasty cleaning up of the situation;

We continued on, steamrolling over every mob in front of us. While crawling towards our target, HighScale Kirn, we walked right by the Ranger epic mob, Jaeil the Wretched, realized that Kegk from Noble Lions was with us and ready for that turn-in, did the turn in, and voila!, ten seconds later our friend had his epic piece.

Crawling onward, trackers picked up signs of not one, but two epic mobs - Mcbee's target and the Enchanter mob, the Ghost of Kindle. There was some confusion at this point, regarding which mobs needed to be hit, which order they should be taken down in and whether or not the raid's only Enchanter, Gemtex, was ready to complete this part of the quest - however, our very own Grimjrakar put all our confusion to rest with one simple statement.

Grim, without your invaluable military training, I don't know what we would have done. ;-) Anyway, both mobs went down faster than Gaed's pants at a sausage party and cries of "Huzzah!" bounced off the walls of the Hole as we celebrated the sweet taste of victory.

Next came another fun part - the treasure split. A lot of treasure was randomed off to the various attendees. No I'm not going to link the loot, however, I am going to state that without a doubt, I now have screenshotted evidence of two things - first of, Satiiva, one of our newest members, has very hot... dice, and second, there is no longer any doubt in my mind that I am the devil.

We ported out and most people logged for the night. However, a few of us hardcore night owls decided to attempt some recruiting. We tried to bait them with beer, only to realize that we were out of bait! When that didn't pan out, we decided to just mingle with people in PoK and talk about what it is to be another brick in the Fourth Wall. Karrakis and I had the pleasure of speaking with a nice young bard of the female persuasion (who apparantly had a thing for half elf rogues...). Things were going well until... well... see for yourself. Hopefully, you all realize how that conversation was supposed to read and realize that I'm not *completely* a pervert... Ok, well I am, but that's besides the point. Anyway, shortly after I pried my foot from my mouth, we all called it a night - a very successful, fun and memorable night. Huzzah. =)
